The ever keen Dan Turner has made what is thought to be the second ascent of John Gaskins’ super-hard shuffle fest, Asphyxia at Woodwell.
This low, but aesthetically pleasing traverse is essentially the reverse of Anesthesia, the well travelled 8A+/B on the outcrop left of Tom’s Buttress. Leaving all the difficulty to the end and finishing up an awkward and bunched 7C+, to gain the break, this right to left version packs a hellish punch and has a real sting in the tail.
