Aidan Roberts has made only the third ascent of John Gaskins’ Shallow Groove, on Trowbarrow Quarry’s Shelter Stone.
It’s taken the better part of two decades for this to see a third ascent, after Ryan Pasquill’s repeat way back in the early 2000s. Not only that, Aidan made short work of this infamously tough problem – originally given 8A but now considered 8B – despatching it in around 20 minutes and that having broken a hold – making the jump for the top that bit harder!
