After a tip off from Paddy Deady (local farmer and climber) regarding a potentially good new prow line on his land – just north of Seathwaite in the Duddon Valley – I went to check it out. Having put a shift into cleaning the boulder and the relevant ground work, I had a session on the block’s principal line, which tackles the striking central prow. Unfortunately (for me), having been thwarted by one of the crux moves, I wasn’t prepared to invest in a Lattice training plan and so passed on the baton to the irrepressible Dan Varian. Psyched from the images I sent him, Dan soon headed over to the Duddon and despatched this classy new line, to leave Wisdom Tooth 8A+. This comes in from a sitter starting down to the right, with the stand being a touch easier at around the 8A mark.

The block is located here with parking being a mere 250m away up a public footpath – here. Please DO NOT damage the dry stone wall when accessing the block.
