Tim Carruthers has added a couple of nice additions to what he jokingly terms the “elderly gentleman’s circuit” at Carrock Fell.
The “Lonely Boulder” is a previously unrecorded block, hiding in plain sight a couple of hundred metres south (left) of the Kirkstone and about the same distance from the road:
(6B) The slopey groove on the right hand side. Sit start on the crimp rail then follow the fat slopers rightwards and pull onto the slab using a deep pocket and finish up this.
(6A+) The little prow to the left. Sit start using good hold out left and right hand on the bottom of the prow then up to a jug on the slab out left and finish up this.
There’s also a bit of a hybrid problem linking the start of problem 1 into problem 2 at a similar grade.
