Tim Carruthers and Jonathan Hughes have cleaned up a couple of small but neat looking blocks in the vicinity of the Medium Ball Boulder circuit at Carrock Fell.
The image above is “Block 63” (cleaned and climbed on Tim’s 63rd birthday). This now sports three new problems:
- The Lip Traverse (4).
- The Arete (4) The only grade 4 in the world with a one-arm move, a dyno and a heel hook!
- It Bites (6B+) The steep face from a Priti Patel Start (low and wide!) on opposing crimps to a slap for the lip. Just one big move, but pure class. The image shows Jonathan on the FA.
Behind Block 63 is another cool little boulder with an obvious shallow groove in the centre. This is imaginatively named “The Groove Boulder” and has a handful of worthwhile easy problems:
- The Groove (5)
- The Slab (5)
- The Rib (5)
