After a brief conversation with Jack Palmieri, where he jokingly implied the appeal of Hybrid Moments (and the various links it accesses) was compromised by the down climbing section involved (fair point), it got me thinking on whether you could go all the way sticking to the lip. Turns out you can.
Fighting Torque (8A+) starts as per Hybrid, but from the jug on Angel keep moving left along the lip as per Cricco and once above Turbulence a ‘new’ piece of climbing is involved to reach into the initial crack of Turbulence, flick your feet down to the rail before executing a tough move to get your RH in to the lower lip and continue along Team Torque to finish. Top class moves all the way.
Another link I’ve done which is more of an aficionados affair, is Out of the Loop (7C+/8A). This one starts as for Sidewinder but on reaching the base of Superstar DJ continues as per Blood Sugar and then follows lip holds as far left as is possible, before headings up to the break on improving flat edges. Cool climbing but ultimately a slightly contrived training style link up.
