Ash Clarke has kindly knocked up a topo (linked below) for the St. John’s Boulder, just up the valley from Thirlmere and adjacent to Castle Rock of Triermain. Ash fills in the details:
After a bit of research, most of the problems had been climbed by at least 2013 by Pete Gunn and co. and another guy reckons he did some of them back as early as 1999. So nothing new as such but it’s a decent sized boulder with some good low to mid-range problems on it less than 10 mins from the main road which has remained undocumented and very rarely climbed on so worth bring it to light I think. Grade wise, it’s all very rough but I doubt anything is harder than 6C+.
