I have cleaned up a 3.5m section of previously unclimbed roof at Woodwell O’ert Road to provide a quality and substantial new section of climbing. As well as offering some new climbing in its own right, this can also be utilised to form a number of superb ‘new’ power endurance link ups. Links done thus far go as follows:
Sidewinder (7C+) The best and most obvious version. Start at the base of At the Heart of it All, matched (double side pull) on the end of the vertical ramp feature. Traverse holds on the ramp to a pod on its right side, then move directly through/under the roof to the start of the rail (base of Superstar DJ Tinpot Todd). Continue along the rail and finish up Angel Deelite. For the start section keep your feet on the good rock – i.e. above the initial 30cm deep, lower band of choss (obvious and clearly defined).
